Recipe serves 2 Guava, Dragon Fruit and Pineapple Smoothies:

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of fresh pineapple

1/2 cup fresh dragon fruit

1/2 cup fresh guava

2 tablespoon of fresh ginger

1 cup spinach

1 cup of coconut water

Directions:

1) Chop all fruit and ginger

2) Place all ingredients in Philips Mini Blender

3) Blend until smooth

We created a tropical fruit refreshing smoothie that is ideal for a light treat in the morning. Instead of yogurt or milk, we added coconut water which is full of electrolytes for a hydrating touch and ginger for added detox benefits. There is even a bit of green so you know you are getting a good dose of fruit and vegetables.  Can be substituted with any fruit of choice and goes great with sweet or savoury breakfasts.

Recipe Makes 8 Banana and Oatmeal Pancakes:

Ingredients:

1 cup of wholewheat flour

1 cup quick cooking oats

2 teaspoons baking powder

3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups skimmed milk

1/4 cup coconut oil

2 large eggs

2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 sliced bananas

1 cup blueberries

Directions:

1) Place all ingredients (except banana) in Philips Mini Blender and blend until smooth

2) Lightly oil griddle or skillet with coconut oil over medium heat

3) Pour the batter (about 1/4 cup) onto pan

4) Place a few banana slices onto batter

5) Flip until golden brown on both sides

6) Serve warm with blueberries sprinkled on top

Everyone loves fluffy pancakes for breakfasts, but butter, syrup, and whole fat milk can be heavy and unhealthy on a regular basis.  We wanted to make something both nutritious and tasty which the whole family could enjoy.  Our banana oatmeal pancakes are made with whole wheat flour and coconut oil giving you all those healthy good fats and fiber.  We skipped sugar and syrup all together as ripe bananas add plenty of sweetness and the sprinkle of blueberries are ideal for that extra kick of flavour.  Oatmeal is a great source of B vitamins, minerals, and soluble fiber for you and your family.  No guilt when sitting down to this indulgent treat.
