Hokkaido is at the top of our favourite snowy destinations so we were incredibly excited to visit Hoshino Resorts TOMAMU and show our children snow for the very first time. Located less than two hours from New Chitose Airport on a modern rapid train ride, Tomamu is easily accessible for travelers who don’t want to deal with driving or have many connections. Their convenient and friendly shuttle was waiting as soon as our train approached the station and we were swiftly taken to our accommodation. We were lucky enough to be saying in one of their beautiful and cozy suites at Risonare Tomamu . Each suite offers plenty of space for families with mountain views from the lounge, bathroom and bedroom, and a huge Jet Bath and sauna. There were plenty of facilities near the lobby including a cozy fireplace, children’s play area, and relaxing library which provided drinks and snacks. Hoshino Resorts TOMAMU offers plenty of activities for all ages. Visit the Ice Village and walk into a winter wonderland complete with ice skating, marshmallow roasting and cocktails in a bar completely constructed of ice. Jump on the many slopes which accommodates for all levels, take your little ones sledging, or go swimming in one of Japan’s largest indoor wave pools at Mina-Mina Beach. Enjoy seafood and delicious fare at one of the mouthwatering buffet restaurants, or head over to Hotalu Street, the first ski-in ski-out street in Japan, for Ramen, Soup Curry and more. We loved sampling Hokkaido’s popular “Genghis khan” at their Jingisukan KING restaurant, and indulging in breakfast and snowy views at Nininupuri. Every building is connected via glass tunnels if you want to walk or a resort shuttle that runs regularly throughout the day and evening.  We highly recommend this resort to families with children and even those who don’t ski but want to immerse in a snow filled landscape. A winter paradise with fun for all ages.
