Staying at La Residence Hue is like residing in a piece of the beautiful city’s history. The stunning Art Deco building, overlooking Hue’s serene Perfume River, was formerly the Colonial Governor’s residence when it was built back in 1930. In 2005 the stylish and grand space was reopened as a hotel allowing guests to enjoy it’s impressive aesthetics and romantic atmosphere. We loved every aspect of La Residence’s beauty, from the nostalgic Le Parfum Restaurant serving fine dining French-Vietnamese fair, to the alluringly Le Gouverneur Bar and their luxurious, Parisian inspired guestrooms. Our relaxing double room featured a European style bathroom alongside five star fixtures and a balcony with beautiful river views. The sun was shining during our visit and we spent long afternoons in their large, relaxing swimming pool surrounded by grand, formal gardens. Their service was faultless throughout our stay and we loved the personal, welcoming feel of the boutique hotel. The perfect spot for a romantic getaway or family trip to learn the history of Hue.
