Julien Royer, world renowned for his 2-Michelin Star restaurant in Singapore, Odette, has partnered with HK’s JIA Group to bring Louise to the bustling city. Louise sits at the two-storey heritage building which formerly housed Aberdeen Street Social, but has been completely transformed by HK acclaimed architect Andre Fu and his AFSO Studio. The chic colonial space exudes an intimate and relaxed ambiance ideal for romantic date nights and long brunches. Chef Royer’s mouthwatering menu is a culmination of French classics, inspired by familial love and childhood nostalgia. All ingredients are personally sourced by the chef himself, with a goal of bridging the gap between fine dining and everyday dishes. Executive Chef Franckelie Laloum, with a culinary legacy spanning over two decades, comes to Hong Kong from Tokyo where he earned The Ritz-Carlton’s Azure 45 its first Michelin Star. Highlights from the menu included the traditional Homemade Louise Pate en Croute, the fragrant Sauteed Hong Kong Frog Legs with Parsley and Garlic Crisps, the delicate Line-Caught Cod with Coco Beans, Chorizo, Piquillos and Mint, and the juicy and flavourful Challans Duck Glazed with Cider Vinegar with Braised Endives and Bigarade Sauce. The indulgent Artisan Cheese Selection by MOF Xavier Bourgon is a perfect option to share at the end of the meal. Royer’s irresistible menu is a must try for those who love French cuisine and want to taste authentic flavours at the heart of HK.
