Our first stop in LA was discovered by our cool, wine savvy friends fromThe Second Glass.  We were all enticed by Watergrill’s lack of corkage fee and of course the amazing array of seafood on offer.  The interiors were urban, modern, and could slot easily into a busy NYC street.  We settled in a spacious booth and proceeded to order a selection of seafood that would pair well with the sparkling Californian wines Tyler and Morgan had chosen for the night.  The seafood platter was a must on all our lists and did not disappoint.  I could not get enough of the fresh oysters and also loved the perfectly grilled Spanish octopus.  It was very hard to decide which main course to choose from the wide variety of filleted and whole fish dominating the menu.  I went for the swordfish which was locally sourced, juicy, and had great natural flavour.  A great first meal on our Californian food tour.
