Hidden in a building amidst all the residential apartments of Mid-Levels lies one of the Hk’s most talked about hotpot/Sichuan spots. We decided to check it out and try their famous spicy hotpot. I was instantly drawn towards the classic, clean setting and attentive service. A definite spot for large family meals, and suitable to bring the parents and grandparents. It’s evident from the start that all their ingredients are high quality and made with precision and care. We didn’t try any Sichuan dishes but went straight for our hotpot favourites. The spicy soup was a generous broth full of fragrant chillies. I expected it to be far spicier, but it was a manageable flavour and easily paired with a calm plain broth. We ordered an array of ingredients which all tasted fresh and came in abundant portions. I highly recommend their pork and beef as well as the chicken marinated in Chinese wine. A traditional family friendly venue with fresh and tasty fare, but definitely a pricier option for hotpot. I would return with a group to sample more of what’s on offer.
