Sai Ying Pun was the last place I would imagine an authentic French spot to be hidden, but Metropolitan proved that in the cutest of Hong Kong neighborhoods you can find a bistro that will keep you coming back for more. We were instantly drawn to the outdoor space at the front of the venue, appropriately used for sipping wine for hours with friends.  Inside is a petite but nostalgic restaurant imitating a perfect Parisian vibe. Taking inspiration from Paris’ Metro, you will see hints of one of our favourite cities throughout the inviting space. We were blown away by the salmon and steak tartares and the Magret de Canard was one of the best I have sampled in Hong Kong. If you are an escargot fan definitely don’t miss theirw which is a perfect starter to share alongside a fresh Salad Nicoise or cannelloni d’aubergine. A French meal never feels complete without cheese, and their variety paired deliciously with a glass of wine.  I can’t wait to return and spend lazy weekends with a few bottles of rose and mouthwatering French cuisine.

  1. Paul Wasserman–son of French food dictionary wine importer Becky–has just launched EatDrink, a company that sells gorgeous reprints of old wine books like 1927's Bouquet (above) by G.B. Stern, which follows a couple's journey through the vineyards of France.

  2. Oh hai! Comprise you endlessly tried the Fat Blast Furnace (search on google)? Ive heard? some incredible things about it and my work friend shed passionate amounts of excess fat.
