The Verandah feels like a sanctuary and perfect escape from the busy streets of HK.  We’ve been to Repulse Bay on several occasions, hung out at the beach, and even took photos outside the historic The Repulse Bay Hong Kong, but never found time to set foot in the beautiful restaurant.  On a quiet weekday night, we decided to sample their dinner service and were treated to not only delicious cuisine but also five star service and a bursting romantic scene.  The historic architecture, sweeping high ceilings, and quiet romantic mood sets the perfect spot for an impressive date.  Think dim lighting, light piano music, and the sound of the ocean taking you a million miles away from your hectic busy day.  The menu is vast, serving delicious classics all created with care and utilizing the best sustainable meat and produce sourced personally by the chef and his team.  The wild mushroom wonton ravioli which integrated the classic HK wonton wrapper was a mouthwatering fusion of east meets west culinary skill.  If you, like us, consider Caesar salad and french onion soup as necessary staples, do not miss the freshly prepared versions served at The Verandah.  For all those seafood lovers, order The Verandah seafood mixed grill where every piece was perfectly seasoned and grilled to juicy perfection.  If you have room for dessert, their Crepes Suzette is not only a feast for your taste buds but also provides an impressive show.  We enjoyed delicious wine pairing with every course and could not get over the serene and beautiful setting.  If you have time stop by their bar for a relaxed pre or post dinner drink and admire the beautifully designed space.  We have definitely discovered another favourite spot and will be returning again and again for date nights, long weekend lunches, and celebratory occasions.
