THE BAR AREA

Sai Ying Pun is fast becoming one of our favourite dining destinations.  A variety of delicious and affordable restaurants are popping up frequently with that friendly neighborhood feel we sometimes miss in HK.  Not only do they offer some of the best of HK’s local fare, but great quality European and American eateries are also appearing.

La Viola, Located at Island Crest, revolves around Southern European cuisine cooked with very simple recipes but using fresh and top quality ingredients. The restaurant design mixes classic gothic style with modern art deco touches to create a relaxed atmosphere.

Their Kobe Beef Carpaccio was one of the best I have tasted in a long time, and was deliciously enhanced with black truffle. Their grilled lamb rack with basil crust was full of flavour, juicy, and cooked perfectly.  I also enjoyed the very tasty osso bucco which was a the daily special chosen from the blackboard.  La Viola offers a great selection of daily specials including soup, fish and dessert ensuring everything is fresh and you never get bored of the menu.  Stop by when you are in the neighborhood for a perfect place to unwind and enjoy a leisurely meal.
