Tamarind, set beside The Village Coconut Island’s picture perfect secluded beach, creates the ideal scene for a true Phuket island experience. We loved the outdoor patio where you are immersed in the stunning ocean view and relaxed holiday atmosphere. Their extensive list of cocktails got us in the mood for a leisurely day on the beach, and we couldn’t resist the mouthwatering fresh pina colada that was served in a gigantic coconut. Their authentic Thai menu served many of our favourite local dishes including plenty of fresh seafood and spice. We recommend the fragrant Roasted Tiger Prawns in a clay pot with glass noodles and local celery, the crispy Deep Fried Sea Bass served with betal leaves, chili, tamarind, coriander and a tangy northern style dressing, and the refreshing Finely Sliced Tuna resting on young celery, tomatoes and sawtooth coriander served with a spicy chili lime and young Galangal dip. Everything suited the beach style venue and atmosphere perfectly and fully immersed us in the Thailand getaway experience. A definite must visit spot if you are in the mood to be castaway on a beautiful, bohemian island with authentic fare and postcard ready views.
