Turkish Airlines was an ideal airline for a luxurious yet affordable business class while returning to London from Hong Kong for the holidays. The amazing services included comfortable seats that converted to lie down beds, mouthwatering meals, great children’s facilities, a conveniently high luggage allowance at 50kg (40kg for economy class), and friendly service! The best part was their “Flying Chef” where we received a five star candlelit dining experience in the sky. The menus incorporated mouthwatering traditional mezze, juicy grilled lamb chops, and fresh seafood selections. The decadent dessert cart was an amazing treat and we couldn’t resist treating ourselves to a few glasses of champagne and fine wine with our meal. With a wider network than any other airline, and an open jaw policy to take advantage of it, Turkish Airlines flies to over 100 European destinations from Hong Kong with an easy layover in Istanbul where we relaxed in their award winning business class lounge. The lounge features an abundance of facilities including a fully equipped kids club, plenty of traditional Turkish cuisine as well as classic breakfast options, fragrant coffee, indulgent desserts, and relaxing dining areas and seating. If your transit time is 6-24 hours, they offer a free city tour of Istanbul to keep you busy with a local guide, tickets to landmarks, and transportation for your convenience. Turkish Airlines has been awarded “Best Airline in Europe” 6 years running by SkyTrax and it’s easy to see why. Every step of the way the Turkish Airlines staff were friendly, accommodating, and made us and our family’s flight as smooth as possible. We can’t think of a better way to travel the long journey from Hong Kong to Europe.
