I discovered my obsession with carnitas during our visit to California, so when we heard about the popular Carnitas Snack Shack in San Diego we couldn’t resist a try. The small food spot serves delicious slow cooked pork in many different forms, and is a nod to the current and cool food truck/stand phenomenon. We loved the small menu and no fuss ordering system out of a small window. Seating was in a comfortable patio area outdoors, and matched the casual, easy vibe of the entire dining experience. We tried the refreshing and tender Carnitas Tacos, perfect for those who love Californian Mexican food, and our favourite dish was definitely the buttery tender Pork Belly App served with a mouthwatering sweet and savoury glaze. A must try for anyone who loves high quality slow cooked pork in a cool and urban setting.
