Hainan Chicken is one of our favourite Asian dishes so we were excited to sample the menu at Hainan Shaoye. We stopped by during their busy lunch hour and were instantly impressed with the clean, modern interior with floor to ceiling windows looking out onto the harbour. We loved the perfectly displayed and delicious Hainan Chicken Lunch Set which seemed to be a firm favourite with other diners, as we barely saw a table that hadn’t already ordered it. The boneless chicken was tender, flavourful, and paired perfectly with their sauce. Other favourite dishes included the Sweet Plumb and Lemongrass Pork Belly Stew, their spicy, coconut infused Seafood Laksa and the delicious Stir Fired Pork Spare Ribs with Coffee Sauce. Also make sure to save room for one of their signature desserts. There was plenty more we wanted to sample on the menu and will be returning in the near future to devour more of their dishes.
