We had heard a lot of good things about Amazake, a new Japanese Izakaya and bar in Central, and have been excited to try the place since it opened. We were instantly drawn to the cool, modern decor, giving off a relaxed and fun vibe. The menu is full of Japanese style tapas, perfect for sharing and pairing with sake or cocktails. We were extremely impressed with the creativity and quality of the dishes we tried and found ourselves wanting to order almost everything on the menu. Favourite dishes included the crisp signature fried chicken wings, the juicy and flavourful Amazake sliders, rich and delicious salmon tartare udon, and the sizzling Grandma’s chicken gyozas. For cocktails, we loved the refreshing The Amazake, ideal when you are trying to escape HK’s summer heat. We also loved using their unique sake dispensers, which was a fun, interactive way to share bottles of sake from their selection. A definite Hungry HK favourite. We look forward to returning soon and trying the rest of the menu!
