Holy Crab is bringing Southern hospitably to HK in the form of mouthwatering, fresh Cajun seafood. We were instantly greeted at Holy Crab with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere and the distinct aroma of spice in the air. Their impressive seafood tanks feature crustacean flown daily from the US and give customers the opportunity to pick their own dinner. We started with a couple of their specials and salads and loved the fragrant Louisiana Braised Clams, the spicy and flavouful Jambalaya and the fresh “Cajun Prawn Happiness” with mesclun lettice leaves, grilled black tiger cajun prawns, roasted bell peppers and avocado. Must try sections of the menu include the fried “Design your own Bucket” and the fresh shellfish from “Pick Your Own Catch.” We chose scallops for our bucket which were meaty, juicy and lightly friend and paired perfectly with the corn fritters. The highlight of the meal was the fresh Swimming Crab which was absolutely delicious and sweet, and filled with indulgent roe, and the meaty lobster which were cooked in a low country boil style of bell peppers, onion and celery known as “the holy trinity”. Choose how spicy you want your seafood ranging from “Plain Jane” to “Nuclear”. We went for “Medium” which was a good balance but tried their “Nuclear” sauce which packs a serious punch for those who like it HOT! They also have a selection of craft beers and found the Founders Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale went great with the meal.
