 El Mercardo serves up Nikkei cuisine, a combination of Japanese and Peruvian flavours which originated in Peru and was created by Japanese immigrants looking to create a taste of home. We were instantly drawn to the bustling vibe of the restaurant and the chef’s dedication to creating an authentici menu. Favourites of the night included the indulgent bites of “Yema de Huevo” Free Range Raw Egg infused with Lomo Saltado Soy Salsa and “Bocado del Mar” Sea Urchin with Leche de Tigre, the juicy Grilled Beef Heart Anticucho marinated in Chili with Corn Puree, the refreshing and perfectly marinated “Ika Ceviche” Ohnibe Fish with Leche de Tigre, Sweet Potato and Crispy Calamari Rings, and the flavourful Tataki de Atun. We loved the fresh ingredients and alongside a modern, lively atmosphere.  A great spot if you are looking to try Nikkei cuisine with fresh modern fare.
