Giando has opened on trendy Star Street and is serving up their signature high-end Italian fare at the new chic location. We headed over on a weekend to sample their semi-buffet weekend brunch and were seriously impressed with the quality of the tempting spread being served. The starter buffet features an indulgent selection of the highest quality Italian cheese, parma and Iberico ham, smoked salmon, and fresh imported tomatoes. We couldn’t get enough of the antipasto and went up for several delicious helpings before moving on to main courses. Every main course is made to order and the menu includes choices from light salads, hearty pastas to juicy steaks. We loved the fragrant and flavourful Rigatoni with Tomato Suace, Red Onion and Pork Cheeks and the perfectly cooked, incredibly tender Tagliata di Manzo. The family style portions mean you can have your main course to yourself or order a few different choices with your party and feast the Italian way. Our meal finished with one of the best tiramisus in the city and of course we couldn’t help but snack on a little bit more cheese before we left. The attention to detail and selection of only the best produce is evident in every bite at Giando and we loved the authentic and welcoming Italian ambiance. A perfect brunch for celebrations and spending time with family. We can’t wait to return to sample the a la carte menu.
