If you are craving fine Italian fare in a chic and sophisticated setting, head over to Basilico at Regent Singapore. The spacious and luxurious restaurant offers a mouthwatering Semi-Buffet dinner which incorporates a tantalizing high quality antipasti buffet followed by a choice of a la carte main courses. We were extremely impressed with the quality at the buffet which included at least five types of tomatoes imported from Italy, flavourful spreads of salamis, hams, chorizo and indulgent cheeses. For main courses we highly recommend the mouthwatering Juniper Berry Crusted Beef Tenderloin with Roasted Chestnuts, Pancetta and Braised Cabbage, and the fresh and flaky Pan Seared Sea Bass Fillet with Grilled Asparagus, Cracked Potatoes and Sun-Dried Tomato Dressing. We also sampled a few other signature dishes and loved the insanely indulgent Oven Baked Focaccia with Black Summer Truffle and Robiola Cheese, and the fresh buffalo mozzarella flown in straight from Puglia. Make sure to save room for dessert and sample their home made Pistachio Ice Cream which was one of the best we’ve had. A must try if you are craving fresh Italian ingredients and a classic taste of Italy.
