Taste of Hong Kong, taking place from 16-19 March at Central Harbourfront, is coming soon and I was lucky enough to join the team at Zuma to get a sneak peek of the mouthwatering dishes they are preparing for the event. Zuma is known for having some of the best Japanese food in the city with jet fresh imported ingredients and intricate modern recipes. Zuma have ordered 250kgs of crab using both Zuwagani Snow Crab from Japan and Alaskan King Crab which will be served generously in their cold noodles with Chili Ponzu and Caviar. The tempting Crispy Avocado Temaki has a perfect combination of flavours and textures uses delicate Yuzu Pearls, Zuma Chili Sauce and fresh a la minute rice. Hakkinton in Japanese means Platinum Pork which is a first generation cross breed between a black pig and a white pig and is used in the perfectly grilled and insanely juicy Grilled Hakkinton Pork Skewer with Miso and Pickled Daikon. Zuma’s dessert is the Hokkaido Roasted Rice Aisu with Matcha and Rice Puffs. Although the chef is quite secretive about how exactly it is made, the fragrant and sweet dish is inspired from his culinary travels and is extremely delicious and unique. Make sure to stop by and visit Zuma at taste of Hong Kong to sample these innovative and impressive dishes which will both surprise and delight your tastebuds.
