If you are looking for one of a kind dining destinations, Jeff’s Cellar, located at the beautiful Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat, is a must add to your list. Set in a 260 million year old cave you’ll be in awe from the moment you set foot in the majestic venue. Dim candlelight and rustic decor leads you through the large, ambient cave and aside from adding some chic decor much of the cave’s natural beauty has been left untouched so as to make sure you get the true feeling of dining somewhere prehistoric. We loved the romantic rose petal, candlelit set up and the staff are at the ready to to assist with any requests. Their wine list and cellar boasts some of the world’s rarest wines and they can even give you a private tour of the owner’s impressive private collection. Chef Lee Choon Boon has created a mouthwatering fine dining menu to fit the venue we were thoroughly impressed with the high standard of the ingredients sourced. Favourite dishes of the night included the Pan Seared Scallop with Osetra Caviar, the indulgent Foie Gras served atop French brioche, the decadent Lobster Bisque with Pistachio Spheres, and the juicy, melt in your mouth A5 Japanese Wagyu Beef which was cooked to perfection. This year Jeff’s Cellar was picked by Tatler for their best restaurant guide and was one of only 10 restaurants in all of Malaysia to be given 4.5 stars, the highest score that was awarded, and Jeff’s Cellar was also recently rated as “One of the Most Magnificent Bars in the World” by CNN Greece. We can’t recommend this spot enough for celebrations and when you are really trying to impress your dining partner for an unforgettable, one of a kind experience.
