The Residence Maldives, surrounded by turquoise waters and a picturesque reef, is a perfect getaway for families and couples. We loved our two bedroom water villa featuring uninterrupted views of the crystal clear ocean and an unbeatable private infinity pool. We couldn’t believe the amount of sea life we spotted while staying at our villa including reef sharks, sting rays, turtles, and even dolphins. Sunsets always painted the horizon and the star filled sky was mesmerizing each night. There was plenty to keep us busy at the resort including snorkeling at the captivating house reef, castaway lunches on our own private island, cooking classes for us and our children, afternoon tea overlooking the Indian ocean, and a friendly and welcoming kids club on the beach where our children were happy to stay for hours on end. The dining options were plentiful including mouth-watering fine dining at The Falhumaa, a lively beach barbecue at The Sunset Grill, and casual buffets at The Dining Room. Don’t miss out on the Sunset Cruise where not only will you enjoy a stunning sunset over the Indian Ocean but you also very likely meet schools of playful dolphins. Encountering these beautiful animals truly made our Maldives experience and we were able to sit at the side of the boat with our children as they swam and played beside us. The beautiful dolphins even returned the day we left and accompanied our boat on the way to the airport to wish us an unforgettable farewell.
