You feel instantly relaxed and transported to paradise the moment you step off the boat and set foot on Gili Lankanfushi. The stunning and unique Maldives resort brings elevated luxury in some of the most beautiful villas in the country. We loved the laidback barefoot luxury vibes, their ‘no shoes, no news’ policy, and the fact that each villa has a private butler who will ensure your stay is unforgettable. Each corner of the island is postcard worthy but we always find it hard to leave our idyllic overwater villa. As our kids were older during this visit we were lucky enough to stay in the family suite and had the perfect amount of space for our family of four. The inviting design incorporates plenty of indoor and outdoor living spaces, a decadent bedroom surrounded by views of the turquoise ocean, a spacious bathroom and dreamy bathtub with a view, refreshing outdoor shower, and a cozy twin bedroom for the kids where they were able to make themselves right at home. Our favourite aspects are the outdoor decks where you can laze in nets overwater or step right into the crystal clear water to admire the marine life. The upper deck is equally impressive with a wooden jacuzzi and couches that can be transformed into beds each evening if you prefer to slumber beneath the stars.
Dining options are always a treat at Gili Lankanfushi and we can never get enough of the mouthwatering themed buffets each evening. Breakfasts are an indulgent experience at Kashiveli which offers indoor and outdoor seating and mouthwatering dinners each night. Overwater Bar is always our lunch spot of choice and also the most stunning venue to enjoy cocktails and the island’s unforgettable sunsets. Make sure to ask your butler for unique dining experiences and to check out their impressive wine cellar during your stay. They will be able to book everything for you either before or upon your arrival to ensure you get a little taste of everything.
Gili Lankanfushi is undoubtably one of those resorts where we always feel at home. Our family is always a little emotional upon departure and create epic memories throughout our time at the resort. Their personable staff go out of their way to engage and are also amazing with children. From exciting children’s activities which range from sunset yoga to bike riding with Mr. Friday our kids were kept busy and happy throughout the stay. If you’re looking for a luxury resort that will treat you like family and ensure your every need is met we highly recommend this Robinson Crusoe inspired luxury island.
