Whether it was suggestions for the best ice cream shop or where we could locate an authentic hammock made in Merida they had the best advice that was always delivered with a smile. Housed in a  classic colonial building, the boutique hotel has kept the property’s original charm while updating it for the modern traveler. Expect five star guest rooms, a state of the art gym, and tranquil pool area located in the hotel’s relaxing courtyard.

Their restaurant, El Centro, was the perfect spot for a leisurely breakfast or afternoon glass of wine and pizza, and the inviting lobby bar was our favourite stop after a big day of sightseeing. The hotel is optimally located for accessing the city’s stylish boutiques and eateries as well as visiting the historic Centro quarter. We loved that they also offered secure underground parking and we found amazing cenotes and exciting day trips all within easy driving distance from the property. A great choice for families, business travellers, or couples looking for quality and history in an optimal location. Merida is a must visit in the Yucatan Peninsula and we highly recommend Villa Mercedes for your stay.
