Callao Restaurant was such a welcome respite after a long travel day. Located in the friendly and comfortable Holiday Inn Lima, the light and modern restaurant is the ideal spot for a family meal during your stay. We loved the varied and mouthwatering menu featuring Peruvian specialities alongside classic International dishes. The daily specials were a welcome treat and their bar served some of the best Pisco cocktails in town. It’s a perfect spot to try dishes that are difficult to find outside of Peru. Not only do they feature dishes from Lima but also specialities that come from the Andes and Amazon Rainforest.

Highlights included the irresistible Lomo Saltado, delicate and fragrant Salmon Fillet, and insanely juicy Cheeseburger. I was also very excited to try guinea pig, a popular dish from the Cusco region, for the first time.  The chef was accommodating to any of our kids’ dietary requests and Holiday Inn are currently having a deal where kids under 12 eat for free when dining with parents. The children’s menu was not only varied but healthy and included drinks and desserts sure to please little foodies. A great spot to dine when travelling through Lima Airport.
