BLACKBARN Restaurant, opened by Chef John Doherty and Tom Struzzieri, is a modern, farm to table restaurant featuring mouthwatering fare with a lively ambiance and is located at the heart of the Flatiron district. We loved the stylish, rustic design and inviting bar area perfect for a night out in New York City. Our family settled onto a cozy hightop table and enjoyed the live music and friendly crowd while deciding what to order from the varied and enticing menu. There were plenty of options ideal for sharing as well as gourmet main courses and a variety of flavours and inspired recipes.
Favourite dishes included the fragrant Steamed Long Island Mussels with Thai Curry, Coconut Milk and Lemongrass, the flavourful Lamb Kofta with Spiced Labnah Ajvar and Wild Za’atar, the decadent Short Rib Sliders with Coleslaw and Crispy Potatoes, the creamy Mushroom Toast with Robiola, Taleggio, Parmesan and Purple Watercress, and the Grilled Amish Chicken with Persimmon & Prune Bread Pudding, Grilled Broccolini and Mushroom Veloute.
