The Hive Beach, located on Hulhulmale’s picturesque white sand beach, is a perfect choice for a stay on the welcoming inhabited island. Located just 10 minutes from Maldives’ international airport, the local island is a great option for those travelling to the country on a smaller budget or need to stay overnight before their seaplane transfer to a resort the next morning. We loved the bright and welcoming property featuring modern and sleek guestrooms, a delicious all day dining restaurant, and optimal location beside the beach and local diving centre.

Our bright room boasted plenty of space for a family of four with two large beds and stunning ocean views from our panoramic floor to ceiling windows. Throughout our stay we dined at Ocean End and couldn’t get enough of their fresh seafood and amazing Indian and Maldivian specialities. Our family enjoyed walks on the beach admiring the beautiful scenery and delighted in the crystal clear water that is a trademark of the Maldives.

The amazing staff at the hotel can help you book transportation or a variety of activities. Hulhulmale is a great jumping off point for diving expeditions, snorkelling adventures, dolphin cruises and even sandbank picnics. You’ll find boat excursions that can take you to snorkel with nurse sharks, turtles, and mantas for a fraction of the price that is charged at the larger resorts. Make sure to check out the hotel’s beautiful rooftop where you’ll be treated with aerial ocean views of the turquoise ocean. A great spot to enjoy the sunset during your stay.
