We recently stayed at the elegant Hotel Geneve Mexico City, and what an unforgettable experience it was! As one of the city’s oldest hotels, its historic charm really captured our hearts. Originating in 1907, the hotel has retained so much of its heritage from the rich wood-paneling, intricate wrought-iron details, and vintage furnishings in the lobby, to the antique piano that still beckons guests to linger and listen.
The architecture is a wonderful blend of Belle Époque elegance and classic Mexican style. We were enchanted by the sweeping staircases, stained-glass windows, and atmospheric dim lighting that made every hallway feel like a portal to a bygone era.
We loved the location. Tucked between the vibrant neighborhoods of Roma Norte and Condesa, Hotel Geneve made it so easy to explore. Each morning we’d walk past tree-lined streets to charming cafés and boutiques. Best of all, Mercado Artesanías was right next door, perfect for browsing handmade crafts, sampling local snacks, and picking up unique souvenirs.
Whether it was relaxing over an afternoon tea in the vintage lobby or strolling out to explore nearby parks, galleries, and restaurants, the blend of history, stunning design, and an unbeatable location made our stay at Hotel Geneve exceptional. For anyone wanting to immerse themselves in Mexico City’s past while living its lively present, this timeless gem is a dream base.
