Dulce de Leche Ice Cream
Tucked inside the elegant Buenos Aires Marriott, La Luciérnaga surprised us with one of the most memorable meals of our trip. Sophisticated without being stuffy, with service that felt both polished and personal.
We began with the grilled sweetbreads glazed in a delicate orange reduction that added just the right brightness to the rich, tender bites. Alongside, the provoleta arrived bubbling and golden, its gooey center and crisp edges making it nearly impossible to stop eating.
For mains, the grilled black hake was flaky and perfectly charred, while the tenderloin came out juicy, tender, and boldly seasoned. My go to comfort food, the Marriott burger, did not disappoint. It was stacked high, dripping with flavor, and built on a buttery brioche bun. It struck the balance between upscale and familiar that this restaurant seems to master so well.
We were also impressed by the wine list, a thoughtful mix of Argentine classics and smaller producers. With a few helpful suggestions from our server, we found a Malbec that paired beautifully with everything from the seafood to the steak.
To finish, we shared a few scoops of dulce de leche ice cream that were silky, rich, and deeply satisfying.
La Luciérnaga delivered far more than a convenient hotel meal. It gave us a refined yet relaxed dining experience full of flavor and warmth right in the heart of Buenos Aires.
