Palermo Wine Club is one of those rare spots where wine takes center stage, but the food more than holds its own. Tucked into a cozy, plant-lined corner of Palermo Soho, the space feels relaxed and intimate, like a neighbourhood secret yet the execution is anything but casual.

We began with the buñuelos de kale, impossibly light fritters served with a tangy dip that disappeared faster than expected. The Provoleta Wine Club, their version of the classic melted cheese dish, came bubbling in a cast-iron skillet, deeply savoury with just the right amount of crust and a whisper of herbs.

Next came a steady stream of comfort food with elevated touches: crispy fried chicken with a golden, crackling crust, a perfectly tender Spanish-style tortilla, and standout mollejas (sweetbreads) served with Andean potatoes, pickled chilies, and a bright pesto dip that added texture and punch.

The ½ entraña (skirt steak) was cooked just right, juicy, smoky, and served with French Fries and a Lettuce & Tomato Salad

Wine is clearly the heartbeat here. The by-the-glass selection is generous and thoughtful, with lesser-known Argentine varietals (like Criolla and Semillón) sitting proudly alongside polished Malbecs and Patagonian Pinot. The staff know their stuff, but the tone stays warm and unpretentious.

We finished with the flan, classic and silky, topped with caramel, a sweet, smart ending to a meal that balances indulgence with intention. A must for wine lovers looking to eat well without fuss.
