Our stay at InterContinental Sapporo felt like discovering a calm, luxurious retreat right in the heart of Sapporo.

Set between the peaceful Toyohira River and leafy Nakajima Park, the location strikes a rare balance. You are just one subway stop from the energy of Susukino, yet wake up to a much quieter, more scenic side of the city.

From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. Staff were warm, polished, and incredibly attentive, helping with everything from local tips to making sure our children felt welcome. It is that thoughtful, intuitive style of hospitality that defines the stay here and makes everything feel effortless.

The rooms are spacious by Japan standards and designed with a soft, nature inspired palette that reflects Hokkaido’s landscape. Large windows frame views of the park or river, creating a peaceful atmosphere and we loved the decadently deep bath alongside luxury amenities.

Facilities are equally impressive and family friendly including an indoor heated pool and a fitness centre ideal for parents wanting to stay active.

Dining was another highlight of our stay, especially breakfast and dinner at AuBlanc. Starting the day with a generous, high quality breakfast and returning in the evening for a refined tasting menu made everything feel seamless and indulgent.

What we loved most is how effortlessly the hotel blends luxury with comfort. For families looking for a five star base in Sapporo with space to breathe, excellent service, and easy access to both nature and city life, this is a standout choice.
