Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa, located on picturesque Lamai Beach, is an ideal quiet family getaway on the idyllic Thai island. Our family stayed in one of their pool villas, featuring classic Thai design, plenty of space for extra beds when travelling with children, and a private plunge pool. The resort’s lush tropical gardens, peaceful private beach, and relaxed atmosphere made it easy to fully unwind.

Our days were spent relaxing by the refreshing swimming pool, walking along the quiet sandy shores, and exploring the local area and beyond. Dining was a huge highlight, from the delicious casual fare at Banana Leaf to unforgettable seafood dinners at tawaNN. Staff consistently went out of their way to ensure we had a seamless stay, and we especially loved the calm, secluded feel of the property, while still being close enough to discover the charm of Koh Samui’s nearby beaches, temples, and local cafés.

The resort also features a beautiful hillside setting, giving many areas of the property sweeping ocean views and a wonderfully private feel. We loved how spacious the grounds felt, with quiet corners to relax and enjoy the tropical surroundings. The spa was another standout, offering traditional Thai-inspired treatments in a peaceful setting surrounded by greenery. Families will also appreciate the balance between luxury and comfort, with attentive service that never felt overly formal. Whether enjoying cocktails by the beach, taking a kayak out on the calm water, or simply soaking up the serenity of the resort, it was the kind of place that made it easy to slow down and truly switch off.
