One of the highlights of dining at KISIK is the setting itself. Tables are arranged directly in the sand overlooking the Indian Ocean, creating an atmosphere that feels both romantic and distinctly Balinese. Watching the sunset paint the sky while feeling the sand beneath your feet makes this a particularly wonderful choice for celebrations, special occasions, or simply an unforgettable evening by the sea.
Before being seated, guests are invited to select their seafood directly from the impressive ice display at the entrance to the restaurant. Showcasing the day’s fresh catch, the display allows diners to choose exactly what they would like prepared, adding an interactive element to the experience and highlighting the freshness of the ingredients.
We began our meal with the Gado Gado Salad, Indonesia’s beloved vegetable salad served with a rich peanut dressing. Fresh, colourful, and full of flavour, it was a light and refreshing start before the seafood feast that followed.
The star of the evening was the Jimbaran Seafood Selection, showcasing some of Bali’s freshest catches. Our platter included perfectly grilled squid, succulent prawns, and a beautifully prepared whole fish. Prepared in traditional Jimbaran style over coconut husk charcoal, the seafood carried a subtle smokiness that enhanced its natural sweetness without overpowering it.
A selection of traditional Balinese sauces accompanied the seafood, allowing us to customise each bite. From vibrant sambals with a gentle kick to richer, more savoury accompaniments, the sauces added layers of flavour that highlighted the region’s culinary heritage.
Equally impressive was the service. The team at KISIK struck the perfect balance between professional and genuinely warm hospitality, ensuring every detail of the evening felt seamless.
