The Traditional Dinner & Cultural Show at Kampoeng Bali, located within RIMBA by AYANA Bali, was one of the most memorable family experiences of our time in Bali. Combining authentic cuisine, live cultural performances, artisan crafts, and a beautiful outdoor setting, the evening offers a wonderful introduction to Balinese culture for visitors of all ages. Designed to recreate the atmosphere of a traditional Balinese village, the venue is surrounded by tranquil ponds, lush greenery, and rice field-inspired landscapes that immediately transport guests away from the bustle of modern Bali.
A small market area showcased local artisans and handcrafted goods, while displays of traditional Balinese sweets and desserts offered a glimpse into the island’s culinary heritage. The atmosphere felt festive and welcoming, creating a sense of anticipation before the evening’s performances began.
The cultural show itself was absolutely captivating. Throughout the evening, performers brought Balinese traditions to life through music, dance, and storytelling. Traditional dances, including the famous Kecak and spectacular fire dance, unfolded on the open-air stage, creating an immersive experience that kept our entire family engaged from beginning to end. Our children were completely enthralled, watching every performance with wide-eyed fascination. It was one of those rare experiences that genuinely appeals to both adults and children alike.
Equally impressive was the extensive buffet. Featuring a wide selection of traditional Balinese and Indonesian dishes, the dinner felt far more refined than a typical buffet experience. The quality of the ingredients was evident throughout, with beautifully prepared regional specialties, live cooking stations, fragrant curries, grilled seafood, and an impressive variety of desserts. Two particular highlights were the live barbecue satay station, where skewers were grilled fresh to order, and the whole Babi Guling, Bali’s famous roasted suckling pig, which was carved throughout the evening. Both showcased the rich flavours and culinary traditions that make Balinese cuisine so distinctive. Every dish celebrated local flavours while maintaining the elevated standards expected from AYANA.
With its stunning outdoor setting, vibrant performances, exceptional food, and family-friendly atmosphere, Kampoeng Bali offers far more than dinner. It is a celebration of Balinese culture and one of the most enjoyable evenings we experienced during our stay in Bali.
