Sunset on Canggu Beach

Set just moments from Batu Bolong Beach, Hotel Tugu Bali is unlike anywhere else we have stayed in Bali. Blending boutique luxury with one of Indonesia’s most remarkable private collections of art and antiques, the hotel feels less like a traditional resort and more like stepping inside a living museum. Every corner reveals beautifully preserved cultural treasures, centuries old architecture and tranquil tropical gardens, creating an atmosphere that is both romantic and deeply connected to Indonesia’s heritage.
During our stay, we checked into the Dedari Suite, a peaceful sanctuary that perfectly balanced privacy with authentic Indonesian design. Surrounded by lush greenery, the villa featured handcrafted furnishings, historic artefacts and our own private pool, making it the ideal place to unwind after exploring Canggu. Despite being just a short walk from the area’s lively cafés, boutiques and surf beaches, the property feels wonderfully secluded, offering a true escape from the bustle outside.
One of Hotel Tugu Bali’s greatest strengths is its warm and genuine hospitality. Every member of the team made us feel incredibly welcome, delivering attentive service that felt personal from the moment we arrived until our departure.
Dining is an integral part of the experience, with authentic Indonesian cuisine taking centre stage throughout the property. We enjoyed everything from leisurely made to order breakfasts featuring Balinese specialities, fresh juices and homemade favourites, to generous Indonesian feasts that could be enjoyed in the restaurant, beside our villa or within the hotel’s beautiful tropical gardens. One of the highlights of our stay was the unforgettable Cultural Dinner at IWA Restaurant, where exceptional regional cuisine was paired with captivating traditional music and dance performances, offering a wonderful celebration of Indonesia’s rich culture.
Hotel Tugu Bali is much more than a beautiful place to stay. It is an immersive cultural experience where history, exceptional hospitality and outstanding Indonesian cuisine come together to create one of the most distinctive boutique hotels in Bali.
