Holiday Inn Nürnberg City Centre is a comfortable and incredibly convenient base for exploring the city. Located within Nuremberg’s medieval city walls, the hotel sits in the heart of the Old Town, with historic sights, traditional German restaurants, shops and cafés all within easy walking distance.

We stayed in one of the hotel’s spacious family apartments, which was particularly well set up for travelling with children. Our room featured a king-size bed alongside bunk beds for the kids, as well as our own private balcony, giving us plenty of space to spread out during our stay.

Despite being part of an international brand, service throughout our stay felt warm and personable. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, whether we were heading out for the day or returning after an afternoon exploring the Old Town.

Breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. The extensive buffet offered an impressive selection of hot and cold dishes, with everything from eggs and breakfast favourites to German cold cuts, fresh breads, pastries, fruit and plenty of options for the kids. It was exactly the kind of generous hotel breakfast we appreciated before setting off for a full day of sightseeing.

There’s also a fitness centre and sauna for guests, although with such a central location we spent most of our time out exploring. We could easily walk to Nuremberg’s main shopping streets, historic squares and traditional restaurants, continuing through the picturesque Old Town towards the Imperial Castle.

Holiday Inn Nürnberg City Centre worked especially well for our family, combining the reliability and facilities of a larger hotel with an atmospheric Old Town location. The spacious family room, private terrace, friendly service and excellent breakfast made it a comfortable and convenient choice for discovering Nuremberg.
