The menu has plenty of relaxed favourites, from freshly baked pizzas arriving hot from the oven to juicy burgers and fragrant Maldivian curries. We particularly enjoyed the balance between comforting classics and lighter, fresher options, making it somewhere we were happy to return to throughout our stay.
A highlight at lunchtime is the vibrant salad bar, featuring fresh produce from Gili Lankanfushi’s own organic garden. Colourful vegetables, leaves and beautifully prepared salads make it easy to put together something light and refreshing, while the changing main courses on the set lunch menu add plenty of variety from day to day.
Freshly pressed juices were perfect in the Maldivian heat, alongside a selection of cooling drinks to linger over while taking in the view. Everything about the Overwater Bar feels relaxed and effortless, from the open-air setting to the casual menu and friendly service.
With the lagoon stretching out beneath you and the island’s lush greenery in the distance, it is exactly the kind of setting you imagine for lunch in the Maldives. Fresh, colourful food, beautiful views and an easygoing atmosphere made the Overwater Bar a firm favourite during our stay.
