Located within Hilton London Hyde Park, Aubaine brings its contemporary French style to one of our favourite corners of London. Set opposite Hyde Park and moments from Queensway and Notting Hill, the restaurant has a relaxed neighbourhood, making it equally suited to a leisurely lunch, casual dinner or drinks after a day exploring the city.

We stopped in for the set lunch menu, beginning with “Beetroot Houmous”, a vibrant, creamy starter where the earthy sweetness of beetroot worked beautifully with the hummus. The “Soupe à l’Oignon” was a comforting French classic, rich and deeply savoury with plenty of flavour.

The Truffle Coquillettes was one of our favourites. Small pasta shells were coated in a creamy, indulgent sauce with the unmistakable aroma of truffle running throughout. The Chicken Escalope offered a heartier alternative, a simple and satisfying main that felt perfectly suited to lunch.

We naturally made room for both desserts. Crème Brûlée delivered everything we wanted from the classic, with a crisp caramelised shell giving way to silky custard beneath. The Gâteau au Chocolat was a decadent finish, rich and intensely chocolatey.

Aubaine has always struck a nice balance between polished French dining and the easy atmosphere of a neighbourhood restaurant, and this location fits seamlessly into the relaxed rhythm of the Hyde Park area. We loved being able to step straight out afterwards for a walk through the park, while Notting Hill and Portobello Road are also within easy reach. With friendly service, an inviting setting and a well-priced set menu, Aubaine at Hilton London Hyde Park is a great option for a relaxed French lunch in West London.
