With the Eiffel Tower dominating the skyline directly ahead, Rooftop Eylau, perched atop Canopy by Hilton Paris Eiffel Tower, is a destination as much for the view as the food, and we highly recommend booking around sunset to experience the terrace at its most atmospheric.

Under Chef Rémy Ribeaucourt, the menu has a relaxed, summery feel, with fresh seasonal ingredients and much of the cooking centred around the rooftop’s brasero. We started with cocktails while watching the evening light settle over Paris. The signature cocktail list is particularly fun, ranging from the refreshing Bombay Twist alongside classics including Aperol and St Germain Spritzes.

For dinner we tried the Eylau Burger, one of the rooftop’s signatures. The beef patty is grilled over the brasero and flambéed with cognac, then layered with cheddar, red onion compote, gherkin pickles and cocktail sauce, accompanied by baby potatoes. We also enjoyed the steak, a great choice for the open-air setting and especially good alongside the rooftop’s ember-roasted potatoes. Elsewhere, the menu offers beef carpaccio with pesto and Parmesan, tartare of the day, colourful salads, sharing boards and Eylau pizzas, including a pistachio pesto version topped with stracciatella and sun-dried tomatoes.

Service throughout was amazing, warm and attentive while allowing us plenty of time to linger over cocktails as daylight faded. Watching Paris turn golden before the Eiffel Tower illuminates for the evening makes dinner here particularly memorable.
