fireDOOR is one of Grand Park Kodhipparu’s most striking dining destinations, an elegant overwater restaurant that feels made for special occasions. Surrounded by the Indian Ocean, the setting is undeniably romantic, with glass floor panels offering glimpses of the marine life below and overwater nets creating idyllic spots to relax above the turquoise lagoon.

We chose to dine outside on the deck, where ocean views and the gentle sound of the water created a beautiful backdrop for the evening. As the light softened over the island, the entire experience felt intimate and wonderfully removed from everyday life.

The menu matches the setting with a refined selection of premium ingredients and beautifully executed dishes. We began with the warm crustacean salad and foie gras before moving onto the grilled ocean catch. From the grill, the Josper grilled lobster was a highlight, fresh, perfectly cooked and full of flavour.

Meat lovers are equally well catered for. The sous vide beef short ribs were wonderfully tender, while the Australian Margaret River beef tenderloin was another standout, showcasing the quality of the produce and fireDOOR’s focus on expertly prepared grilled dishes.

We finished with the coconut caramel bar, a decadent end to an already memorable dinner.

With its dramatic overwater location, sophisticated menu and romantic atmosphere, fireDOOR was easily one of our favourite dining experiences at Grand Park Kodhipparu. Whether celebrating a birthday, anniversary or simply a special evening in the Maldives, it is the kind of restaurant that makes dinner feel like an occasion.
