Celebrating the bold and vibrant flavours of Asia, Spicy Ginger at RAH GILI Maldives offers an exciting dining experience showcasing authentic regional specialities, aromatic spices and beautifully prepared seafood. Our dinner began with the Sichuan Vegetable Dumplings, delicate parcels packed with flavour and a satisfying kick of spice. The Salt and Pepper Squid was another favourite, perfectly crisp on the outside and tender within, generously seasoned with fragrant spices.
The Vietnamese Beef Pho offered a comforting contrast, featuring tender slices of beef in a deeply aromatic broth with delicate rice noodles and fresh herbs. Seafood lovers are particularly well catered for, with the Thai Chilli Lime Fish delivering a wonderful balance of citrusy freshness, fragrant herbs and fiery chilli. The Hunan Chilli Fish was equally impressive, showcasing the bold, punchy flavours and satisfying heat characteristic of the region’s cuisine.
One of the evening’s highlights was the Chilli Lobster, a wonderfully indulgent dish combining succulent lobster with a rich, spicy sauce that perfectly complemented the natural sweetness of the seafood.
What particularly impressed us was the authenticity of the flavours, with dishes embracing genuine Asian spice levels rather than toning down the heat for an international audience.
Dining on the beautiful overwater deck adds another memorable dimension to the experience, particularly after dark when reef sharks can be spotted swimming through the illuminated waters below. Combining exceptional Asian flavours with a magical oceanfront setting, Spicy Ginger is undoubtedly one of RAH GILI Maldives’ standout dining destinations.
