After hearing great things about Chef Danny’s creations we have been eager to sample the burgers at Double D and recently visited on a busy weekend lunch hour. The venue is small and lively and filled with hunger inducing aromas of burgers being freshly prepared from their open kitchen. Their signature burger, the Double D, was large, juicy, perfectly cooked, and features two hand ground, grass fed Australian beef patties with sharp aged Cheddar, onion, shredded lettuce, tomato, pickle and Double D sauce. Dirty and decadent indeed! The Chicken Burger is made using double fried buttermilk chicken, hand-cut smoked bacon, Montery Jack Cheese and Jalapeno Aioli. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside with lots of flavour, this will be an absolute favourite for anyone craving homemade fried chicken. “The Big Fish Mac” is made using a huge piece of flaky, lightly beer battered fish fillet with an ideally matched homemade creamy Double D tartar sauce. Definitely one of the best fish burgers we can remember having in a very long time. Just when you think there might be enough new Burger Joints opening in town Double D comes along to set a new standard. A definite Hungry Hong Kong favourite and we look forward to gaining a few more pounds at this delicious joint!
