We’ve always dreamed of having a personal chef on hand to create fresh, decadent meals for us any time of the day, and Villa Sungai made this come true during our three night stay. The luxurious and spacious dining room is an ideal spot to enjoy meals with the family or have a romantic evening for two, and we loved the impeccable service alongside amazing cuisine. The menu is large, so plenty of choice for all tastes, and they are eager to cater everything to your specific needs. Breakfasts featured made to order eggs, options of cereals and yogurts, and their sweet and mouthwatering Black Sticky Rice served with Coconut Cream & Palm Sugar Sauce. We feasted on local flavours for lunch in fragrant soups, grilled chicken sandwiches, and delightful bento boxes. Each dinner began with fresh fruit cocktails and a leisurely canapes service to get you in the mood for a relaxed meal. The three course meal that followed was a mixture western and Asian flavours using only the freshest produce and ingredients. Some of our favourite dishes were the Lime and Cashew Blue-Eye Cod Rolls with Chinese Black Vinegar Dipping Sauce, the Beef Rendang served with Malaysian Roti Canai, the Seared Tasmanian Salmon with Bok Choi, Chilli and Lime with Lime and Mint Granita, and the Lemongrass and Palm Sugar Panna Cotta with Orange Chilli Caramel. We were impressed with the chef’s ability to bring out Bali’s natural taste in each dish showing us what the island has to offer. If you have children, they are prepared with both baby friendly purees and healthy child sized meals. After three days we felt healthy, satisfied, and rested. A perfect choice if you are looking for personalized, high class dining in a private setting.
