The Continental is one of our favourite places to go a for date night or a celebratory dinner and we couldn’t resist a visit before Christmas. They are currently serving a decadent festive menu which begins with an indulgent Big Eye Tuna Tartare with Black Truffles, Celery Root and Hazelnut, and is followed by a luxurious Butter Poached Lobster Medallion with Gingerbread Crumble, Pumpkin Barley & Sauce Americaine. The main course was a tender Blanquette of Milk Fed Holland Veal Cheeks with Leeks, Pearl Onion, Bucatini Pasta & Black Trumpet Mushrooms and for dessert a beautifully displayed Vietnamese Coffee Flavoured Bombe Alaska with Frangelico Ice Cream and Caramelised Bananas. We also sampled from the a la carte menu and highly recommend their delicious Butter Poached Alaskan Halibut & Caviar with Crushed New Potatoes, Lemon Butter and White Burgundy.
