Shimo is the ideal spot if you are craving high quality shabu shabu or sukiyaki. Their authentic decor and intimate atmosphere takes you right back to Japan. We loved their private dining room with tatami seating and views over Causeway Bay and eagerly waited to sample a selection of their signature dishes. We highly recommend the fresh White Pearl Oyster, the melt in your mouth Sukiyaki Wagyu Beef Sushi, the flavourful Negi Toro Sushi Roll, and Shimo’s Spicy Tuna Sushi Roll. The highlights of our meal were the sukiyaki, serving up gigantic juicy slices of indulgent and irresistible Japanese Beef A5 Grade and Prime U.S. Beef cooked in their rich and flavouful broth, and their delicious King Crab Shabu Shabu full of fresh fragrant flavours of crab meat and vegetables. Pair the meal with something off their extensive sake menu, and ask for recommendations from their knowledgeable waitstaff. We personally loved the Kozaemon Junmai Daiginjo Akaiwa Omachi Sake. A great spot for dinner with friends or when that Japanese craving hits. We will definitely be returning for more.
