I’m a firm believer in using apps to supplement my blog and share more about my food adventures and travels with all of you. Many of you may already follow me on Instagram, but have you seen my account on the new app Pepo? I’ve been using this app almost daily for the past few months and love the way it works. Think more user engagement, great interactive features, and a fun way for me to share my daily life with you all.
You will find plenty of chats on Pepo with different subjects ranging from luxury travel to city eats and more. I’m Hong Kong Foodie, where I share all of my favourite HK spots. Follow me for my “best of” lists, videos of street food, and exclusive images from my many dinners out each week.
I often post live on their Spotlight feature so you will get a real sense of my life as a foodie. I also incorporate my travels and food discoveries when visiting a new place. You are able to ask me questions or request tips about food in HK or suggestions for the ideal night out.
I recently collaborated on another chat during my month in Thailand. I started hosting Thai Food Stories by Per Meurling and shared everything from street eats to fine dining from my stays in Bangkok and Koh Samui. We stayed at a variety of luxury resorts and sampled their amazing dining options but also made sure to walk around the hot streets of Bangkok and check out some famous food stalls. Check out the Thai Food Stories chat to see it all.
Another great feature is the “Nearby” option which is great if you are somewhere unfamiliar or find yourself a bit lost in a new city. You are only a few clicks away from linking up with local “hosts” and seeing tips about your location. You can also ask questions and find out more by engaging in the chat. I found this extremely useful and informative while traveling.
I find Pepo to be far more engaging and personal than the majority of apps and blogs that are already out there. You don’t have to host an app, but are able to join as many as you like in locations and topics that interest you. I use mine to post about my favourite eats, share live videos of what I’m eating that day, and also answer questions and help visitors to my city with recommendations about where to go that would best suit them. I also join chats about luxury travel or traveling foodies where I can ask for tips about what was their favourite resort or which restaurant is a must try in the next city I’m visiting. You will not only find a wealth of information but you’ll be able to engage with others who hold the same interests. Make sure to check it out and follow my chat if you like what you see on my blog and want more.
