Hidden in what can only described as a sketchy building with a slightly scary elevator, down an alley in Causeway Bay is one of the cutest yakitori discoveries we’ve visited in HK. Sumi Yakitori has always received praise from it’s patrons and is one of those restaurants that has great word of mouth. We loved the quaint and authentic setting, not at all resembling it’s slightly daunting entrance. The menu has plenty of choice and each dish is cooked to perfection. We loved the juicy skewers of meat which were full of flavour and just the right amount of seasoning. Favourites included the lamb chop, the beef tenderloin skewers, the juicy and flavourful pork skewers, and a variety of the perfectly cooked chicken skewers. Pair your meal with something from their sake collection and stay for hours feasting and chatting. An ideal date night spot if you want to show off a hidden gem.
