Far off the tourist path, Tingalay’s Retreat offers tranquillity, stunning scenery, friendly hospitality, and one of the most unique swimming pools we’ve seen. Families will love the sprawling guest room they call The Great House boasting plenty of space for those travelling with children. The house is 1500 sq ft and encompasses alluring corners ideal for artists or writers, cute trundle beds for the little ones, and a nostalgic bedroom which was a calm respite after a day of exploring.
Couples can opt for the seafront bungalows and enjoy romantic sunsets or groups can rent out the entire property for the ideal reunion spot or picture perfect wedding. We loved the attention to detail, rustic style, and eclectic decor throughout the property. Staff are not just welcoming but make you feel right at home with their friendly demeanour and willingness to accommodate each guests specific needs. Each morning we woke to an authentic Jamaican breakfast freshly prepared by Sophia, piping hot coffee and fresh juice.
We spent days wandering the grounds, getting to know the cute resident dogs, and enjoying the refreshing saltwater fed pool. The unforgettable waves crashing against the rocks and never-ending sea views made us feel worlds away from busy crowds. Practice yoga in their sala, read a book under the shady trees, or just enjoy time your loved ones.
You’re only a short drive to Negril’s 7 Mile Beach, a plethora of beautiful cliffside restaurants, and you’ll find easy access to all the abundance of sights and serenity Jamaica has to offer.
