Origin, Hilton Maldives’ stunning overwater dining destination, was one of our favourite restaurants at the resort. As soon as we set foot in the ambient and stylish space we knew we would enjoy our memorable dinner. Tables are set on a covered outdoor deck overlooking the turquoise ocean. A semi-open kitchen shows the chefs hard at work and a tempting fresh seafood selection. The menu is created by talented Sicilian chef Silvio Zaccareo. who has executed a creative and mouthwatering ode to modern Italian fare. Highlights of our evening included the refreshing Bruschetta Pomodoro, the delicate and buttery “Capesante” Scallops with Prosecco, herbs, breadcrumbs and beetroot sauce, the giant juicy “Gamberoni” Grilled prawns with artichokes, pears, arugula, pine nuts and citronette, the indulgently rich and flavourful Lobster Risotto, and the melt in your mouth “Tagliata di Manzo” Grilled beef rib eye with potato terrine, semi-dry cherry tomatoes, roasted asparagus, cipriani sauce, arugula. The desserts are a must at Origin and are made to be shared. We couldn’t resist the creamy and decadent authentic tiramisu and the delectably smooth Vanilla Panna Cotta. Pair your meal with a bottle from the unique and varied wine selection and enjoy your culinary journey under the stars.
