Ember’s is a stylish and delicious dining destination located at the heart of Brighton. The welcoming and cozy venue was opened by two friends with fine dining backgrounds wanting to make a more accessible eatery. Each creative and mouthwatering dish is cooked over a wood fire in an alluring open kitchen setting. We loved the fusion of modern and old and beautiful use of high quality produce.
The venue offers both interactive bar seating where you can watch the chefs in action and modern tables ideal for a date night. We loved the concept of small shareable plates where diners are encouraged to sample a variety of flavours and recipes. A blackboard also displays daily specials ensuring there is always something new to try.
Favourites from our meal included the creamy and flavourful Cured Chalk Stream Trout, the crisp Sprout with Kimchi, Chestnut & Umeboshi Plum Puree, the fresh Torched Bream with Marinated Courgette, Tahini & Lemon Dressing and the fragrant Aged Pork Belly with Fish Sauce Caramel, Apple & Ginger Compote and Scratchings. The Sussex Wagyu Rump was a huge highlight and perfectly prepared to a mouthwatering medium rare.
Their cocktails were equally irresistible with a combination of classics and creative concoctions. Make sure to save room for dessert and sample the sweet and savoury Humbug with Toffee Ice Cream, Mint Oil, Candy Crumb and Celeriac Fudge for a burst of flavours and textures. A must dine spot for those looking for creative modern British fare in a comfortable and relaxed setting.
