If you are on the search for a French brasserie, complete with open front seating, cherry red and dark wood interiors, and a French chef look no further than Brasserie De L’ile. Upon entering the Wyndham Street adjacent spot, you feel instantly transported to Paris. The ambiance is all in the authenticity of the decor and design. I was very happy to see plenty of French classics on the menu and had to try their signature moules mariniere which did not disappoint. My absolute favourite dish was the steak tartare, and I must add that I am very picky about steak tartare, but Brasserie De L’Ile managed to create the flavours that brought me back to summers in Cannes and long lunches in Paris. I would return again just for this dish. Visit this slightly hidden haunt for quiet nights and long lunches. Perfect if you prefer intimate settings and escaping LKF’s incessant crowds.
